Nutrition is about more than putting good food in your belly. Feed your mind and spirit as well as your body. Your whole self needs to be nourished or you will never feel "full." Embrace and absorb the things that make you happy. Then when it comes to eating, focus on what you need, and not what you "shouldn't" have.
Regular activity helps you be your best self in so many ways... Exercise gives you energy, eases stress, and makes your body AND brain stronger and healthier. Make it a part of who you are - walk with friends, work out with a partner, play with kids, hike in the woods, stretch between meetings, and take the stairs!
There is so much that can hold us back from being healthy and happy. If you ignore your emotional baggage and personal roadblocks, you will find that your efforts to eat well and exercise do little to improve your overall feelings of "wellness." Explore your inner self, do what gives you joy, and have FUN!
No matter where you are in reaching or maintaining your health goals (or even knowing what they are!), everyone has a unique way of getting there. The individual attention you'll get from to a T helps you find YOUR "perfect fit."
Small, ongoing lifestyle changes are the key to your sustained health and wellness. Being your best YOU requires trial and error, patience, and sustainability. We are all works-in-progress, but if you continue to make positive adjustments toward a healthy life you are also just right, right now. Learning to accept and move forward from your mistakes and flaws will ensure your success.
Even if you know what you want and need for a happy, healthy life, it's hard to stay committed when you're living in the moment. You need someone to instill motivation for the long haul, provide expertise and offer advice, show you how you can when you think you can't, and discover what works for you (and what doesn't) -- someone to cheer, instruct, remind, push... You need a coach.
Who, me? I'm happily married with three great kids, devoted to family and friends, engaged in my community, working at what I love, and dedicated to health and fitness. I spend my days running, cooking, learning, sharing, writing, researching, creating, laughing, loving, and so much more! All of this is great... and challenging.
